In its latest revision a two part code was adopted
December 8, 1999 island wide. Part A of the code is the current 1997
UBC's Volumes 1, 2 & 3. Part B is the Puerto Rico Building Code
(Supplement with amendments). The link below will take you to ARPE
which is the Spanish acronym for "Administracion de Reglamentos y
Permisos" or Puerto Rico's Building Regulations and Permits
Administration. This government agency is responsible for enforcing
the code and issue the corresponding permits.
